Very good breakfast food with unique options in a friendly quaint atmosphere. I recommend the waffle breakfast sandwich. The waffles were very tasty and it tasted very fresh. Though it would be nice if certain dishes came with sides like hash browns without additional cost, the prices are still very reasonable. Highly recommend if you’re in the Elk Rapids area looking for food breakfast food.

Great food, even better service! The owner and her daughter make the place feel friendly, homey, and they treat everyone as regulars! Love The Local. You can't go wrong work breakfast or lunch-everything is great!

This is one of those rare places where 5 stars is truly not enough. Ever since this place opened, soon after we first moved here, we hit it all the time as often as we can. This is the first place we take family and friends who come up for a visit.Breakfast Biscuits and Gravy. Yes. Omelet. Yes. Stuffed Hash Browns. Waffles. Banana Bread French Toast. YES. YES. YES.And if you like granola and fruit, uh, yeah, sure.Lunch Sandwiches, Burgers, Wraps, Salads. My all-time FAV is "The Odd Couple" on toasted jalapeno cheddar bread. I just like the name ya know.They are not open for dinner which is good - my tummy needs time to digest all the yummy!

This place is a real Gem with the best tasting breakfast in town. Great atmosphere & friendly staff this place will not be short of customers. I had the Heauvos Rancheros with a side of Cornbeef Hash & my wife had the BLT Omlette. Simple dishes to pick from & the presentation is great. Highly recommend to everyone, you won't be disappointed!

My family and I are staying at a cabin on Torch Lake and found this place on Google maps for breakfast. Their menu has lots of great food and drink choices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We all got something different to eat and we all loved it! This place isn't huge. So, seating and parking gets full fast. Overall, we loved our meal! We will definitely be back next summer!

A great local spot! We really enjoyed our lunch! The onion rings were a little over cooked, but still good - just cut the roof of our mouths. Definitely worth a stop of your in ER!

First stop on our vacation! Incredible omelettes with unique flavor combinations that did not disappoint! Quaint little place with good character. Would recommend to anyone in the area and will definitely be back!

The stuffed hash browns and the blt omelet was so good. My wife and I shared. The service was fast and very friendly. Definitely will be coming back for to try lunch.

Great food whether you go for breakfast or lunch. The banana bread french toast is AMAZING (either go hungry or be sure to ask for a to-go box in advance)! Food is always fresh & delicious. The servers are always friendly & smiling.

This place is the perfect breakfast spot. Stopped in on the way home from Torch Lake and so, so glad we did! The food is delicious and the service is excellent!

Good food prepared very tasty and service was very good . enjoyed the food but the biscuits were not what they should of been. need to heat in the oven not microwave them. ordered cinnamon toast and only got one piece on order? They are local and are busy, so my have to wait.

Incedible food. Only open for breakfast and lunch though. I would love it if they were open for dinner.

Don't really know if the food is any good or not after waiting for 25 minutes the waitress came back and said that their printer ran out of paper and she couldn't remember what we ordered. We didn't have time to reorder and wait so we had to leave and go to Subway which took 5 minutes to get our sandwiches. Not impressed

Great brunch! Quaint and cute place. Picnic tables and outdoor dining option. Nothing to complain about! Food was served fresh, hot, and delicious! Waiter was extremely friendly and always made sure we were satisfied. Banana bread French toast was incredible! Can’t wait to return!

My woodcarving class, instructor and I go to lunch together every Tuesday. When deciding on which restaurant to go to, The Local wins the vote almost every time. We love the food and friendly service!

Great place to get breakfast. There is a local selection of products and produce. Friendly staff that is amazing and is even seen out supporting other local businesses. Loved my stuffed hashbrowns. As a first time patron, I can say after what I have eaten and experienced I will be back with friends hungry for more. Please be ready and thank you for the amazing service.

The banana French toast is splendid. The prices are great.

The food was good, but the experience was terrible. The server was impatient, and irritable. We assumed maybe she was just having a bad day, but we asked another server a quick question and without stopping or even looking at us she said “I have no idea.” Our question — it was in regards to a food allergy that could cause our 12 year old son days of pain. The place was not busy, maybe two other tables total, yet they were rude and rushed, and it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. When we got the food, 4/6 meals were wrong or incomplete. When we asked about it, she seemed like it was an inconvenience to her. We’re nice people. We’re low maintenance people. We’re chill people. And we’re locals. This is the first google review I’ve made. I was very bummed out. Make sure you ask for silverware if you want to eat your food.

Met a good friend here for breakfast at his suggestion. The food is quite reasonably priced, plus your get quite a bit of food as well. The chicken biscuit sandwich is a BIG meal - a large chicken breast encrusted in griddled corn chips sanwiched in a homemade biscuit enrobed in ample amounts of black peppered sausage gravy. Wow... It was quite the meal that I'm set until an early dinner. The waitstaff is super friendly. Do not miss this place!

The Local is the place to go! Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and the food was fantastic! My wife and I both had breakfast and would do it again in a minute. Highly recommend.
